Since the late 1990s, Hasso Plattner has consistently supported education, science, and art in Germany. In 2013, he joined the Giving Pledge, launched by Bill and Melinda Gates and Warren Buffet, and committed to donating the majority of his wealth to philanthropic causes. Following this pledge, he established the Hasso Plattner Foundation in 2015, bringing together the Plattner family’s philanthropic efforts into a unified ecosystem.
“I owe the resources and skills for life to my parents and to my studies at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. That’s why I want to give something back in the area of education, so that others can also benefit from it.”
