Bridging Pluralities
TALES is a non-profit multimedia production and publishing initiative. The team at TALES works with filmmakers, researchers, artists, game developers, and storytellers to create moving multimedia content that sparks change.
Together, they enable environmental education and produce films, games, events, and digital experiences that uncover stories and bridge narratives through mythology and ancestral knowledge. They combat stereotypes and shed light on underrepresented communities and highlight the beauty and diversity of our world so that we can conserve, protect, and celebrate it.

Discovering the world through stories
TALES aims to inspire individuals and organizations to take action and make a meaningful impact on the world without resorting to fear-based messaging.
The TALES story began with their first publication, “Congo Tales” (Random House / Prestel, November 15th, 2018), and the short film “The Little Fish and the Crocodile”. These shone a light on life in the Congo Basin and granted access to the rich mythology of Congo.
Over the past years, the team has expanded and diversified into new areas, creating projects with strong foundations in cross-cultural and cross-continental collaboration. Expanding their areas of work to Romania, Brazil, and India, TALES has developed multi-disciplinary projects that aim to change the narrative about places of great ecological importance by providing unique educational experiences for future generations.
The Future at TALES
The next major project from TALES is World of Us, a game for children aged eight and above that is scheduled to be released around the world in 2026. The game wants to ensure that ancestral and ecological knowledge is preserved and respected. It’s here that young players can come together to explore and play as they learn the real-world stories of cultural custodians, ecological experts, and indigenous communities that have a close personal and historical connection to their native homelands.
TALES will continue to focus on mythologies anchored in an interdisciplinary approach to environmental education. Strong partnerships – such as the renowned Playing for the Planet initiative with local activists, artists, and researchers – will be key to ensure the integrity and longevity of the results.
